kSpace

kSpace

kSpace came into being as an alternative to the limitations of video-conferencing for language learning, in order to allow learners to create their own environments which could serve as cues when speaking to networked peers.

Pilot projects in schools and museums have led to the development of a generic multi-purpose series of galleries that can be used for all curriculum and Key Stage areas.

kSpace provides easy to use portals to any subject area for any level of learner, and allows for creative applications for organising and mapping knowledge and accelerating the learning process. The software has been used to engage students in a number of activities, including languages, history, maths, art and design.

Customised versions were created for various schools and LEA’s. ‘CreativeVR Portfolio‘ was one such version, developed for Derby City Pathfinder project. It was used to create 3D portfolios for students. Further information on this project and a case study can be found on the Ferl (Further Education Resources for Learning) site.kSpace came into being as an alternative to the limitations of video-conferencing for language learning, in order to allow learners to create their own environments which could serve as cues when speaking to networked peers.
