An International Centre for Excellence in Serious Games Applied Research, Business Engagement and Study

Serious Games Institute is an operating division of Coventry University

Sexual Health Game for Children

Led by Coventry University Health and Life Sciences, and with the SGI, the project uses interactive game technology, with content aligned with the new national PSHE and SRE curriculums to support information giving, and provide enhanced likelihood that young people will engage in the sexual health behaviours being advocated. It directly addresses the thoughts and behaviours of young people. It draws on research evidence from a series of studies that provide data about what is needed to get young people to translate information they receive about sex and relationships into strong motivation to engage in effective and consistent contraceptive and condom use. The game will be developed and piloted, and feedback collected to support the further development of the game and prepare for a full efficacy evaluation.
